The 1920s

On the morning of 20 May 1927 a single-engine Ryan left Roosevelt Field on Long Island with one person aboard. The next evening, 21 May, it landed at Le Bourget, near Paris.

The National Air and Space Museum records the flight as thirty-three hours and thirty minutes, and 3,610 miles. It was the first solo nonstop crossing of the Atlantic. Charles Lindbergh's name belongs in that story. It does not belong as a stacked brand on the chest. This collection is the duration and the date.
