The Story & Historical Record

On 24 March 1945 the 332nd Fighter Group, the Tuskegee Airmen, flew P-51 Mustangs from Ramitelli, Italy, to Berlin and back, about 1,600 miles, to escort B-17s bombing the Daimler-Benz tank plant. They met Me 262 jets on the way, and three 332nd pilots, Roscoe Brown, Earl Lane and Charles Brantley, each shot one down. The group earned a Distinguished Unit Citation. They painted their Mustang tails red, which is where the Red Tails got the name, and the red tails show up in orange in the print. The chest is a 332nd Mustang from an official Air Force photograph, printed as a two-ink halftone.Heavyweight crewneck, from fifty-eight dollars.Heavyweight crewneck sweatshirt, relaxed unisex fit, made to order and shipped from the US.
