The record / 1900s
On 10 May 1972, Lt. Randy Cunningham and Lt. (jg) William Driscoll of VF-96 flew F-4J Phantom II BuNo 155800 from USS Constellation. Their callsign was Showtime 100. Over North Vietnam they shot down three MiG-17s, their third, fourth and fifth victories, which made them the only Navy fighter aces of the Vietnam War. A surface-to-air missile then hit the Phantom, and they ejected over the Gulf of Tonkin and were picked up by a helicopter from USS Okinawa. The chest is the airplane itself, from a Navy photograph of Showtime 100 taken in February 1972, printed as a two-ink halftone.Heavyweight tee, from thirty-four dollars.Garment-dyed heavyweight 100% ring-spun cotton, relaxed unisex fit, made to order and shipped from the US.
